Sarah Palin Euphoria09.12.08

Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:

That Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air and the energizer for the forgotten right wing of the Republican party is a no-brainer. That Sarah Palin will help Republicans raise needed cash is already coming into the coffers as McCain and the Republican party now has bout $200,000,000.00 to battle Obama. But one thing that’s being currently lost in all the euphoria needs to be mentioned.

It’s John McCain who is running for president!

Sarah Palin will soon take on less and less exposure as we head to the first of three debates. It’s the McCain persona and the McCain agenda that runs the show, not the Palin, more conservative, brand of Republicanism. John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin — fresh from a rousing sendoff Thursday night at the Republican National Convention — hit the campaign trail running Friday, trying to win over voters with their new “Change Is Coming” mantra.

Comparing the two keynote speeches (McCain and Palin) is day and night.

Sarah Barracuda will have another day in the sun light- many days. But over the next sixty days she will be thrust back into the role that she’s been approved for as John takes back the lead pony position.

Both parties have now carved out a CHANGE mantra; however, I feel that what we’re going to see down the road, over the next sixty days, is not so much a discussion of CHANGE, not of who has the most EXPERIENCE. What happens here in America and on the world stage will cause both camps to CHANGE their approach and what they are touting. It’s obvious that Obama is a light weight in the area of experience, even more so than Ms. Palin.

Isn’t what our nation and world needs are people with a VISION, more so than experience?

Both campaigns are not in control of what’s coming, what’s not seen. Can you say a major economic melt down, more than what we now see. An Israeli attack on Iran. An unexpected set back in Iraq. An escalation of the war around or in Georgia. Major problems with Pakistan-Afghanistan. Capture of Osama bin Laden, etc. Get ready for the unexpected and the candidate or party that handles though as best could be, will win- Sarah Palin notwithstanding.

Get ready for at least one October surprise!

Another 9-11 Twin Towers In Texas?02.10.03

Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:

The 9-11 disaster of 2001 saw nearly 3,000 people killed and the nation was traumatized. Worse yet, America went to war with the nebulous crowd called “terrorists,” wherever they might be found. Afghanistan and Iraq were of course our first two major stops in the journey. Quietly, though and other 9-11 has been playing out along the Texas Mexico border as drug lord and cartels kill anything and anyone that gets in their way. Last year TWICE as many people killed as the number that died in 9-11.

Already this year there have been 1,000 people killed in Mexico along the border, following 2008’s death toll of 5,800, according to federal officials who credit Mexican President Felipe Calderon for a crackdown on drug cartels. However, the spillover on the border, to El Paso from neighboring Ciudad Juarez, has created a political reaction.

In a recent visit to El Paso, Texas Gov. Rick Perry called for 1,000 troops to protect the border. It’s a WAR!

President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops to contain the violence but ruled out any immediate military move. “We’re going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense,” Obama said during an interview with journalists for regional papers, including a McClatchy reporter.

“I don’t have a particular tipping point in mind,” he said. “I think it’s unacceptable if you’ve got drug gangs crossing our borders and killing U.S. citizens.”  Well, duh!

Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., chair of a key subcommittee on border security, will hold a hearing Thursday on Mexican border violence. “Last week Mexico sent additional 3,200 soldiers to the border,” Sanchez said in a prepared opening statement for the hearing, “increasing the total number of Mexican soldiers combating drug cartels to more than 45,000.”

Sanchez chairs the House Committee on Homeland Security’s subcommittee on border, maritime and global counter terrorism. “It should be noted that over 200 U.S. citizens have been killed in this drug war, either because they were involved in the cartels or were innocent bystanders,” she said. “With those concerns in mind, it is essential that the Department of Homeland Security, along with other relevant departments, continue to pursue a contingency plan to address ’spillover’ violence along our border.”

It’s long past time that we dealt with such atrocities as they’re now spilling over into the major metropolitan areas such as San Antonio and Houston.
